Talking with animals
You know what strikes me as funny? A lot of people believe they can talk to a god, but very few people believe they can talk with animals. And how is it that we accept some people who believe in something that we cannot see, while we imprison others with the same convictions in a mental asylum?
I remember my mom told me how, when she was a kid, people thought the idea of sending pictures through the air was crazy. She was born in 1950, and radios were incredible back then.
I’ve always felt technology was a workaround when it comes to communication, as if we’re re-inventing telepathy, just because it makes more sense if two machines communicate using invisible signals.
We can now talk with someone on the other side of the planet, wirelessly, using a device smaller than our palms. And yet, we refuse to believe that we can actually talk with animals. Just because they don’t speak our language.
Have you ever felt that language is sometimes a hindrance when you’re talking with someone? Have you ever tried talking to a cat, without using words?
I have. It told me about its life, and all I had to do was listen.
